The Bioazul team has received this week the visit of Prof. Girish R. Pophali from the National Environmental Engineering Research Institute – NEERI located in Nagpur (India) to strengthen their relationship on wastewater treatment.
Bioazul and NEERI will work together on PAVITR, the India-EU cooperation project on safe treatment and reuse of wastewater in India. The project aims to develop and deploy cost-effective & sustainable solutions to tackle water challenges and ensure the provision of safe water reuse, rejuvenate water quality of rivers, and restore degraded ecosystems in India.
Bioazul will be involved in the design and implementation of 4 SBR wastewater treatment systems that produce treated water with quality standards suitable for reuse. In addition, it will support NEERI in the design and installation of an MBR system that ensures the optimization and automation of water in Nagpaur.
Professor Girish had the opportunity to visit RichWater, the water purification and regeneration site that Bioazul has installed in Algorrobo (Málaga). There he was able to learn how RichWater technology works and the treatment process to which wastewater is subjected. On the other hand, Remedios Romero, doctor and researcher at IHSM-La Mayora CSIC, was in charge of showing how water samples are taken to verify the quality of crops irrigated with reclaimed water.
Bioazul hopes that this visit will be another step to strengthen India-EU relations.
