EIT Food with the collaboration of Bioazul will organize the InnoWise Challenge Lab on water scarcity, a competitive event for start-ups that will be held in Málaga on September 24th. The event will take place within Smart Agrifood Summit, the fair on innovation and entrepreneurship in the agri-food sector that is held annually at the Trade Fairs & Congress Center of Málaga (FYCMA).
The event is one of the activities to develop within the EIT project Finding innovative solutions for water scarcity in Southern Europe coordinated by EIT Food, in collaboration with EIT Climate, EIT Manufacturing, EIT Raw Materials, and the support of Athena technology center and Bioazul.
After selecting the 30 most innovative startups to cope with water scarcity in Southern Europe and after intensive training and mentoring, these startups will compete in 3 events during September and October in Italy, Greece, and Spain for the best innovation award.
10 startups will present their solutions in a pitching competition during the InnoWise Challenge Lab organized in Málaga. The best two start-ups of each final competition will be awarded with prizes of 10,000 and 5,000 euros respectively. Similar competitions will take place in Italy and Greece.
This event will also bring relevant actors including investors and public funding agencies and it will be an opportunity to facilitate access to funding to entrepreneurs in the water sector.
