Mid-term TREAT&USE (Safe and efficient treatment and reuse of wastewater in agricultural production schemes) took place on December 3rd-4th, 2013 in Jüertebog, Germany and it was organized by HYDRO-AIR.TREAT&USE partners have met in Jürtebog, Germany, to assess the system performance during the irrigation season. From June to September, TREAT&USE technology has been irrigating two varieties of tomatoes with reclaimed water. New technological modifications of the system have been proposed to go forward in the level of automation of the system and reduce O&M costs while providing a safe treatment of the waste water. During the next months the system will be upgraded for the next irrigation season when we expect to have a final product ready for the market.During the second session of the meeting partners visited a test field with a pilot irrigation system in which it has been testing a soil sensor system measuiring soils moisture, ammonium, ortho-phosphate, nitrate, nitrite and salinity.
