FIT4REUSE Multi-stakeholder platform

Reading time: 2

The project FIT4REUSE aims to provide safe, sustainable and accepted ways of water supply for the Mediterranean basin by exploiting non-conventional water resources.

Treated wastewater and desalinated water can contribute to compensate the gap between agricultural water demand and supply and provide consistently high-quality water throughout the year.

FIT4REUSE focus on innovative, sustainable and safe treatment technologies, and on the use of treated wastewater and desalinated water in agriculture and for aquifer recharge. Also, specific methodological and assessment tools will be created to meet the project objectives.

The project has developed a specific methodological framework for impact assessment and multi-stakeholder platform that exploits the results of the project and improve perception of non-conventional water resources.

In order to stay in touch with the project and further develop its results, we invite you to register on this FIT4REUSE – Multi-stakeholder platform, a tool built to create a community around non-conventional water resources.

Once registered, by clicking on the “Survey” in the banner at the top of the page, you will find the “FIT4REUSE Consultation”. The survey aims to reinforce and unveil socio-economic and environmental characteristics which might be relevant when performing a sustainability assessment and policy framework associated with this project. All inputs will contribute to the development of the methodological framework of the holistic sustainability assessment. The Survey in the FIT4REUSE – Multi-Stakeholder Platform is available in 4 languages English, Italian, Spanish and French.

There is also a section of “Talks” where talks are shared with experts that are very enriching, currently three have been launched:

  • First Talk was looking into the Horizon2020 Innovation Action project HYDROUSA – Demonstration of water loops with innovative regenerative business models for the Mediterranean region.
  • Second Talk was dedicated to the synergies that FIT4REUSE is building with the other 2 projects on water management financed by the PRIMA Programme in 2018 – DSWAP and WATERMED 4.0.
  • In the Third Talk, materials and information about the water solutions implemented by FIT4REUSE in the different pilot sites were shared: it was talked about nature-based solutions, intensive solutions, technologies for water desalination and their integration and modelling.
