Inspiring initiatives that empower women

Reading time: 2

Today, March 8, International Women’s Day is celebrated, a date marked on the BIOAZUL calendar since for us gender equality is a fundamental pillar of our DNA as a company. For this reason, instead of launching a campaign for March 8 as in previous years, we wanted to prepare a list with some initiatives that we work with and that may be of help. All of them work to achieve a much more egalitarian, equitable and sustainable society.

These are the initiatives:

Women4Climate: is one of the world’s largest networks promoting women’s climate leadership and providing a platform to showcase women-led initiatives addressing climate breakdown. This platform offers among its activities:

  • Mentorship Programme. This programmme connects women mayors, city officials, business leaders, international organisations, and civil society with emerging women climate leaders. It provides mentees with training, networking opportunities, and guidance from diverse leaders, to drive women’s involvement in inclusive climate action and innovation.
  • Online Leadership Course. Free, four-week online course focused on developing skills for women leadership in climate action.

WEPs. As you know, from BIOAZUL we have been a signatory of the Women’s Empowerment Principles since 2020, an initiative of the United Nations Global Compact that guides companies on how to promote gender equality and the empowerment of women in the workplace. , the market and the community. Here we leave you some of the upcoming webinars they organize and that may be of help to you:

EIC Women Leadership Programme. This is a program offered by the European Innovation Council (EIC), in partnership with the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) to support the role of women in innovation and technology. The programme is open to female researchers and entrepreneurs from the EIC Community and EIT female entrepreneurs. Each cohort consists of both virtual and in-person training sessions, led by high-profile experienced trainers who challenge participants’ leadership approaches with inspiring case studies and use participatory approaches to encourage active engagement. Participants benefit from individual coaching and personal mentoring. Through dedicated networking events, they also engage with peers and inspiring role models. A new call to participate is now open until March 20. Click here to know all the details of the call.
