2nd InCEPPP Workshop: Circular Economy in Public and Private Contracting

On December 12, the second workshop of our InCEPPP project took place, where we talked about the circular economy in public and private contracting.

The aim of this workshop was to bring together experts in circular purchasing, both public and private, to share their experience and raise awareness on this topic so that companies start applying these circular criteria in their own organization.

After the welcome, our colleague Sara Hernández made an introduction on Circular Economy and how to apply it to public and private contracting. In addition, she presented us with the InCEPPP project financed by the Erasmus + program, within the framework of which this workshop was organized, and shared some of its main results such as the Circular Public and Private Purchase Methodology.

Next, the attendeees participated in an open debate in which they discussed the opportunities offered by procurement with circular criteria for cities, and the priorities to be addressed in the cities’ circularity strategies.

The last part of the workshop had a more practical nature, in which the participants were able to see concrete examples of projects with circular criteria and follow the circular contracting process step by step. After that, inspiring experiences were presented in Andalusia in the field of circular economy and sustainability.

We are glad to see that more and more companies and institutions around us value training and taking part to reduce their impacts, and that little by little the Circular Economy is making its way to become a reality in our day-to-day lives.
